World Health Organization considering worldwide “de-scheduling” of CBD

In November, 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD) submitted a report stating that “preparations considered to be pure CBD should not be scheduled within the International Drug Control Conventions.”

In their January 24, 2019 letter to the United Nations Secretary-General, the ECDD recommends that a footnote be added to the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as follows: “Preparations containing predominantly cannabidiol and not more than 0.2 percent of delta-9-tertahydrocannabinol are not under international control.”

This is one of many small, but needed steps toward harmonizing the legalization of hemp-derived CBD worldwide.

We at True Nature Creations will be following these developments with great interest, and will strive to keep you well informed about hemp and CBD law, and share with you the most accurate information currently available.
